Team Art! Will Be at Art Chicagos Next Art Fair 

More than an art fair, NEXT is a showcase for the world’s talents and an adventure in innovative culture. An opportunity to redefine the relationship between art and its public,NEXT is a platform for established and emerging galleries to promote the work of cutting-edge artists.  NEXT is dedicated to the exhibition and advancement of today's art.  NEXTis the catalyst for the exchange of information and experimental ideas aimed at today's educated collectors.

For the second year in a row we have made it happen we will be showing are art at one of the worlds largest art events. Last year we made our debut as Allen Vandevers Project space and had great success. The art world used to seam like this mystical place that was only found in fairy tales. Last year we discovered this land and it was as strange and bizarre but magical and beautiful. I hope you come visit us wile secure our foot hold and place in the art world.

Team Art! Needs You

This is a call to artists, activists, freethinkers, the socially conscious without title or affiliation, and those that have an insurmountable drive to create and inspire; the only criterion is that you be open to be both peer and student in our community.Currently, we are equipped with painters, photographers, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and professional students of life.  And, we believe our communitys conscious growth is boundless, as long as we spur continual growth through challenge.  Thus, many of us have numerous projects underway that need additional manpower.
My name is Allen Vandever co founder of TEAM ART!I have been a struggling painter for, what seems to me, all of my life, and I feel I have finally reached a point where my body of work reflects my philosophy, as well as the sensations and the passion behind the inexplicable visions of my dreams.  Last year we were in Art Chicago's NEXT art fair as Allen Vandever's project space, we were also in Art on Track and Verge Basel Miami along with other shows. These were great opportunity's to reveal our work to the world, We will be doing much the same This year starting with Art Chicago's NEXT art fair and Allen Vandevers 2nd Annual Art Extravaganza April 29th at Cafe Baci 225 W Walker Chicago.   
Every Friday we host an Art Walk through various galleries in Chicago.  This weekly event started when a few of us gathered to attend some openings to drink free booze while nibbling on semi-expensive cheese and crackers.  That humble beginning inspired great conversation, unforgettable intrigue, and of course, camaraderie.  We invite you to be a part of this merriment and exploration.  For information of gathering time and location, please shoot me an e-mail at allenartist@gmail.com.

SWIMMING IN PAINT

Team Art! has officially received sponsorship from Golden Acrylics to create works made solely with Golden art materials for Next/Art Chicago!  

Now the challenge is to turn ALL this paint into artwork!  We want to really push the limits of the material, experiment with the different mediums/additives, varnishes, heavy body and open paint, and create a body of work that truly exemplifies the diversity of this medium.  

As Mike so elegantly demonstrates here, this is a LOT of paint.  We have our work cut out for us.  Check in with us at Art Chicago at the Merchandise Mart, April 29th-May 2nd to see what happens!

Hello Chicago!!

Hello and welcome to the first ever edition of the Team Art Chicago blog!  Log in weekly to get updates on our upcoming events, activities, and find out how you can get involved.

Team Art Project Space is composed of professional artists working together to create truly outstanding installations, projects, and educational opportunities for young and emerging artists in Chicago.  Based out of the north side, we are all artists working in slightly different veins, with our own individualized tastes and interests.  We are all united by our absolute passion and love for 2-d work-- from paint on canvas to mural painting, to photography.  Team Art! encourages young and emerging artists to work bigger, and better, and ultimately to get their work seen.

  Working artists need project spaces, gallery spaces, inspiration, publicity, audiences, funding, and above all encouragement.  As a collective of professional artists, Team Art! is invested in art education, promotion, and above all evolution as art changes along with our ever evolving city.

 

 In the News: Team Art! recently received funding from Golden Acrylics to create works of art made solely with Golden products at NEXT/Art Chicago.  These works will be on display in the Merchandise Mart the weekend of April 29-May2nd, along with all of the excitement of the art fair itself!  We will also be hosting an after party art event, AllenVandever's 2nd Annual Art Extravaganza, at Caffe Baci (225 W Wacker) coinciding with Art Chicago, complete with drinks, food, DJ's and live music.
